tldr: Good proof of concept! Needs work but overall really good! Most likely didn't use AI. This is definitely a great proof of concept and I really really hope the developer continues working on this game. It is currently lacking in features but it has a lot of promise. There should be more upgrades, and more to the game than just distance, but it's a great game.

Onto the AI part I like to do. I do not believe that this game was made with AI. The art is hand drawn, the music was handmade. I can't say much about the code as it's not opensource but I doubt they used AI. (Edit: The art was made by someone else and the credit given to them is in the description of the game)
