# The day has come, and the hunt can begin!

After over a year of hard work and feedback, I am proud to announce that "Isles of Silence" is officially in Early Access!

Thank you so much for checking out my game, and I hope you give it a shot! If you've still got some unanswered questions, here's a little FAQ:

## Does the game have an end? Or is it endless?

The game does indeed have an end goal that it builds towards, but it is currently not in the present build. There is no prestige system or meaningless number bloat, but rather a steady layering of interwoven systems that open up more efficient paths forwards.

## How long does the current build take to beat?

Current playtests are showing that there are at least 8 hours of content in the game, though it could easily be more depending on playstyle.

## Is this an Idle Game? How active is it?

It's more of an Incremental, where progress is gained through planning and time-management rather than simply waiting for a number to go up. It starts decently active in the beginning, but as the game progresses you have the option to automate more and more by assigning tasks to the NPCs.

## Is there a dark mode?

Of course (thanks to the comments I got an hour after launch, much appreciated guys)

## What's the tone of the game?

Cozy with a darker undertone. It may be the end of the world, but they're sure making the most of it!

## Should I leave a review if I really like it?

- Added clarification that all stats shown are bonuses added onto your base stats.

- Upon clearing Stage 50 (the final stage in each Area), it loops you back around to Stage 41 automatically, allowing you to automate killing all of the highest tier enemies. Use Stage Locking to farm specific Stages.

- Removed Base Stats from displaying in the Stat Overview for consistency.

- Redesigned how information is displayed in Stat Overview.

- Event rewards can be reclaimed by selecting an Event in the Completed Events list. If the event has a cost, it is waived in this case. This is useful if for whatever reason your unlocks disappear.

- Areas have been visually extended. You'll no longer see a black border on the edge of Areas.

- Updated "Visions of the Past" Event to clarify that you need 100 Gems currently in your inventory.

- Made the clickable area of Interactable objects more generous, now extending outside of its visual area.

- Interactable objects can now also be right-clicked.

- Updated the auto-stat button description to no longer include that the button is called "AUTO" as it's now a double up-arrow.

- Hovering over a stat name or its progress bar now displays its stat description.

- Replaced placeholder images.

Buckle up and spiral into the mysteries of our own galaxy. From Density Waves to Fermi Bubbles, many components make up the Milky Way. But, what’s at the core of it all?

*   Collect nine new Trait Cards exploring the different characteristics of our home star system.
*   Unlock four new cosmic generators: Orion Spur, Perseus Arm, Omega Centauri and Galactic Bulge.
*   Follow the swirls as the Milky Way appears on the Beyond tree.

## One in Two Trillion

Watch your hard work take shape in space. Starting with the Orion Spur, each crucial element of the galaxy will appear one by one and eventually form the complete awe-inspiring Milky Way. To give you an idea of how massive it will be, we included a sneak peek (#NoSpoilers).

## Celestial Celebration

The stars are feeling particularly generous with this update. Let’s take a look and see what galactic goodies are now available:

*   Two Astronomy Missions are better than one! Increase production as you research the Galactic Plane and Galactic Bar.
*   Shoot for the stars to form the Hercules and Vela constellations.
*   Obtain up to 10 new achievements. Can you catch them all?

### Additional Features:

*   The appearance of the Milky Way has changed everything! The camera now pans and rotates as you zoom so that everything stays beautiful, and changes to the side panel and the garden zoom UI make navigating easier.
*   Looking for a particular planet? Click on an Astronomy Mission with the sidebar open to find its respective Interstellar Object.
*   Fixed an issue players would not get leaderboard rewards at the end of the event.

*Save backup system is finally here! I’m sorry that this was not implemented at release, this would prevent the loss of progress for the players who experienced pc crashes. I was not aware that this was going to be an issue for a (although small percentage of players) decent amount of players.

Side note: The game has always had auto saving. Some players have written in their reviews that the game does not have auto saving, this is false. You never need to manually save the game, apart from right before closing out of the game if you want to make sure the progress is saved right up to the end of your play session.

What did I do to make sure the backup is actually working? Answer: The loss of progress will happen if the player shuts down the pc (either with a crash or force shuts it down while the game is running) but it will only lose progress if the pc shuts down right when the game saves, and the game saves every 10 seconds, which means you are quite unlucky if this happened to you. I did 2 things to make sure the backup system is working. First I deleted a part of the save file to corrupt it. And when I open the game again, the backup save is loaded. I also added a test auto save pop up so that I could try and force shut down my pc while the game is auto saving, this was actually quite tricky and it did not seem to corrupt the save file because I need to shut it down at the exact moment it saves, BUT when I spam clicked the save button while shutting down my pc, this did indeed corrupt my file, and It did load the backup file!

So it should be working! But I need to also mention something else. There is always a chance that upon a power outage or a similar pc crash that it will mess up the steam cloud. So if it’s the steam cloud that messes up, and not a corrupt save file. You can take a look at this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2821890/discussions/0/4418675885156990943/

I also made a few more changes in this patch:
*Rainbow pegs now resets the buff back to 5 seconds if buff is active while a rainbow peg is hit and activates the same buff.
*Made yet a few more changes on a few boards that caused balls to get stuck.

## Big Updates

- Steam achievements integration. All stats get migrated automatically to steam. New achievements will come in the next updates.

- 7 new tiles to shake things up a little. But be careful, not all are friendly!
- 8 new color themes for daily and nightly maps as well as for future puzzle maps

## Updates

- Music pace increases or decreases with the play speed
- removed 1-2 key binds for speed, now its a toggle with the letter F. This is to allow factory key binds in the future updates
- Reduced $ bonus duration to 5 seconds, 20 seconds was too much and made the game a bit unpredictable.
- Pressing A key will display much more production information as well as an average production for the last 10 cycles and 20 cycles.

## Bugs and Improvements

- Fixed firecamp displaying incorrect numbers

- Resolved a performance issue that may cause the game to run faster now. Still need to work on a renderer but this should help. I'll keep investigating if there are other ways to improve performance until the new renderer is sorted.

Can't thank enough the community for the messages, discussions, questions, ideas, contributions and help. Special thanks for Linkchu_Markus for the incredible bulls eye to find bugs and strategies to break the game in really fancy ways.

If everything goes okay with this big update, future updates and puzzles will come in a better way. I used this time to craft a small level editor to help with the puzzle creation but its on the agenda to add more features and maps.

I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention half of the things in this update, this last week was intense!

## New Buildings

There are some breaking changes regarding Livestock Farm - _it is split into two buildings_: Poultry Farm which only produces meat and Dairy Farm which only produces milk. To help with this transition, existing livestock farms will continue to work but can no longer be built. _Dido still provides boost to Livestock Farm in 0.14 but will be removed in 0.15._

*   Add "Poultry Farm": 2x Wheat -> 2 Meat
*   Add "Dairy Farm": 2x Wheat -> 2 Milk
*   Add "Poetry School": 2x Paper + 1x Alcohol -> 2 x Poem
*   Deprecate "Livestock Farm": existing livestock farms will continue to work but you cannot build new livestock farms
*   Dido now boosts Dairy Farm and Poultry Farm
*   New great person Homer: +1 Production and Storage Multiplier for Stable and Poetry School (Classical Age)

## New Wonder

*   Large Hadron Collider: All Information Age great people get +2 level for this run. This wonder can be upgraded and each additional upgrade provides +1 level to all Information Age great people for this run (Unlocked by Virtual Reality)

## Other Changes

*   **Clone Factory will no longer sustain itself - it is required to transport resources from a building that produces the resource to be cloned (e.g. If you want to clone Super Computers, the clone factory can only use Super Computers directly transported from Super Computer Labs. Super Computers stored in Warehouse/Caranvansary/Clone Factory cannot be used)**
*   Transports to buildings that produce workers no longer require workers. This will help with worker domino collapse issue
*   When upgrading wonders (Internation Space Station, Marina Bay Sands, Palm Jumeirah, Alderson Disk, Dyson Sphere, Matrioshka's Brain, Luxor Temple Chogha Zanbil), the builder capacity will increase linearly with the level
*   Matrioshka's Brain: each additional upgrade provides +1 Production Multiplier for buildings that produce Science
*   Geography research will increase the explorer's range to 2; Steam Engine research will increase the explorer's range to 3; Aviation will increase explorer's range to 4
*   Peacekeeper is unlocked by Financial Arbitrage (instead of Virtual Reality)
*   When an Information Age wonder is being upgraded, it will continue to provide boost

## Bugfix

*   Fix a bug where Future achievement is not correctly awarded
