### New Features
- **Queued Move Orders**: While your engines are cooling down, you can queue a move to another region. The "Move City Here" button becomes a yellow "Queue Move Here" button, and your city relocates automatically when the cooldown expires. Only one order can be queued at a time — a new one overwrites the previous. A cancel button appears when viewing the queued destination, and the Engines Cooling header button shows the queued region name.
- **Beacon Public Donations Toggle**: Beacons default to private core donations — only corp members can contribute. Leaders with the `beacon_manage_donations` permission can enable public donations from the Contribute Cores tab. Non-members see a "not accepting donations" message when public donations are off.
- **Minute-by-Minute Acquisition Resolution**: Supply Rush and Grand Melee events now resolve and award structure ownership the instant a winner mathematically secures the win, instead of waiting for the hourly tick.
- **Continuous Held-Time Scoring**: Supply Rush and Grand Melee events accumulate score continuously based on exact hold duration. Overtaking the current leader requires strictly exceeding their power or contribution — ties retain the existing leader.

### Balance & Modifications
- **Beacon Level-Up Re-Roll**: When a beacon levels up, all previously earned Blue (Intermediate) and Green (Materialist) core buffs are re-rolled — both the resource and its bonus value randomize. Red, Yellow, Black, and White buffs are unaffected.
- **Mercy Rule**: Updated threshold evaluation to scale with the new continuous scoring rate for Supply Rush and Grand Melee.

### Bugfixes
- **Queued Move**: Fixed multiple edge cases where queued move orders would silently fail — race conditions when engines expired while the player was actively online, stale cache reads, and missing state pushes after execution. Moves now execute reliably and the UI stays in sync.
- **Battle Modal URL Deadlock**: Fixed a routing deadlock where closing the battle window left `?battleId=X` stuck in the URL, making it impossible to immediately reopen the same battle.
- **Battle Window Close Loop**: Fixed a bug where closing a structure battle window would immediately reopen it.
- **Auto Booster Toggle Not Persisting**: Fixed a save-before-load race in all combat modals where localStorage settings were wiped on initial mount, losing the Auto booster toggle and other preferences.
- **Region Development Contribution Errors**: When contributing to a region development project failed, the error handler itself crashed and skipped resource refunds. The rollback path now runs correctly.
- **Swarm Chromium Tooltip**: Fixed tooltip clipping at the bottom of the screen and rendering behind other UI panels.
- **Game Definition Authorization**: Mutating game definition endpoints now enforce role-based access control.
- **Structure Acquisition Forecast**: Mercy Win forecast tooltip now correctly predicts consecutive win hours under continuous scoring.
- **Leaderboard Score Formatting**: Leaderboard rows and tooltips now display fractional score values correctly.

## **Nanobots Go Beyond**

Nanobots are no longer contained to the Primary Simulation. That’s right – our favorite little bot friends can fly further than ever before into Mesozoic Valley, the Beyond, and every single Explore Event. This is also the first time Nanobots will work in the Beyond!

Players can now purchase three new upgrades in the Reality Engine, one for each side simulation: **Event Simulation Fleet, Mesozoic Simulation Fleet**, and **Beyond Simulation Fleet**. Players who previously purchased the Side Simulation upgrade have instant access to the three new upgrades.

That means that all Primary Simulation upgrades, like Nanobot Multibuy and Nanobot Autostart, will now apply to side simulations as well. With a new level of efficiency present in the entire simulation, purchasing Nanobot upgrades is more valuable than ever before.

## **New Cosmetics**

To celebrate the release of Reboot: Nanobots, we invited the community to submit their own Nanobot designs with the **Design a Nanobot Skin Contest**. It was a tough competition, but three emerged victorious.

In this update, we’re officially adding those skins to the Logit Store:

*   Work up an appetite with **Nano Burger**
*   Ride through the wild, wild west with **Cowboy Nanobot**
*   Escape the simulation with **Glitch Nanobot**

We’re super excited to finally implement these designs in the simulation, and we’ll continue to add more cosmetic options for players to express themselves with in the future. 

## **Quality of Life Improvements**

We’ve made several other Quality of Life adjustments to the simulation.

Improvements:

*   The cost of certain stackable upgrades has been reduced 

    *   These upgrades include **Entropy Booster XII, Entropy Speed Booster VI**, **Metabit Booster VI**, **Knowledge Booster V**, **Idea Speed Booster V**, and **Idea Booster XII**
*   Nodes leading into Crustacean content have been reduced in price to make progression easier

    *   These nodes include **Jointed Legs**, **Arthropod**, **Mandibles**, and **Four Antennae**
*   The opacity of the Nanobots’ Autobuy icon animation has been adjusted to be more visible

Other Fixes:

*   Major memory usage improvements were made to address performance issues and crashing
*   Resolved an issue where the **Shark Week** achievement was awarded before players met the requirements
*   Bugs caused by item information not loading properly
*   Velociraptor using the Compsognathus sound effect
*   Sauropoda using the Brachiosaurus sound effect
*   An issue where mutagen was not counting towards mission progress
*   Zoom functionality not working as intended
*   The cloud save button now shows up less frequently after being dismissed
*   Overall bug fixes for crashing on older devices

# **Hello, Merchants!**

With this update, we are making major changes to **Mad Merchant’s progression and economy**. Our goal is to give every journey a clearer purpose and make production, exploration, and preparation more important throughout the game.

# **OBJECTIVE-BASED PROGRESSION**

Progression is now built around specific goals. Growing your train is no longer only about earning money. You will need to:

*   Produce the right items
*   Complete contracts
*   Increase your level
*   Discover new cities

…to continue expanding your operation.

# **LEVEL IS NOW THE FOUNDATION OF PROGRESSION**

**Player Level** is no longer mainly used for module upgrades.

It is now the **primary source of overall progression** and plays a central role in:

*   Unlocking new cities
*   Advancing through the game

Exploration is therefore more important than before. Discovering new cities will unlock:

*   New contracts
*   New opportunities
*   New progression goals

# **MODULES NOW REQUIRE ITEMS**

Modules can no longer be purchased with money alone.

Each module now requires:

*   A monetary cost
*   Specific crafted items

To expand your train, you will first need to build the necessary production chain and manufacture the required materials.

This connects module progression directly to production and gives every new module a clear objective.

# **THE SHOP IS NOW SELL-ONLY**

Buying items directly from the Shop made it possible to skip important parts of the production chain and had a major impact on the game's economy.

**Items can no longer be purchased from city Shops.**

Shops are now focused entirely on selling the goods you produce during your journeys.

Materials required for modules and advanced production must be created through your own production network.

Contracts have been redesigned around individual cities.

Each city will offer its own contracts, giving you more reasons to:

Hello everyone!

Today, we're ready to share the winners of the shapez 2 modding contest! We got a surprising amount of submissions and we were really impressed by the quality! Aside from the modding contest, we also have some fun things to share about Update 1.2, as well as the Puzzle project!

# Modding Contest Winners

First things first, the winners of the modding contest! We received many unique and exciting mods from you, ranging from small quality of life tweaks to complete game overhauls. Thank you all for participating!

To pick the winners of the contest, we considered the following criteria:

*   **Originality:** how new and refreshing the idea itself is.
*   **Technical Achievement:** the technical execution of the mod, i.e. how well its integrated and to what degree AI was used.
*   **Presentation:** how it looks, whether through detailed buildings or clean UI elements.
*   **Gameplay:** how it changes the gameplay of the game, either directly (new game mode, buildings) or indirectly (more accessible information, improved tools).
*   **Popularity:** how it was picked up by the community already.

You all sure made it difficult to pick the winners, but here we go!

## Runner ups

Because we got so many submissions, we added two runner ups to the winners. They'll both get some shapez merch in the mail!

### 5th Place – **Crystal Expansion** by 鸽子

This mod adds two new buildings and 5 new crystal variants. The first building is the Dissolver, a building that dissolves a shape, extracts the most dominant part, and turns normal colored fluid into Unstable Fluid holding the data of the dominant part. You can then pump this Unstable Fluid to a Crystallizer, the second new building. If the dominant part in the Unstable Fluid matches the dominant part of the shape you send into the Crystallizer, that part is crystalized!

Essentially, it's a new way to add Crystal parts to a shape that also requires a whole new design. Plus, there are some new Crystal variants to discover.

### 4th Place – **Space Platform Display** by Joshrl

If you're looking to add some color to your factories, look no further! Space Platform Display allows you to, as the name implies, turn Space Platforms into massive displays. These can display any fluid color or shape code you input, and are visible while zoomed out, even in Overview Mode.

This can be used to mark points of interest like inputs and outputs of your setup, or color code your blueprints. Of course, if you give someone colors, art will be made! These platforms are great for drawing pixel art while Vortex LTD isn't looking.

### 3rd Place – **Mod Manager** by LiAuO2

Mod Managers are a cornerstone of any modding community, and we think this is a great contender! If you have some old saves lying around that you cannot use because of mod incompatibility, be sure to check this one out.

### 2nd Place – **Shape Recipe Lab** by guardiandown

Shape Recipe Lab is already one of the most popular mods on the Workshop, and we see why! Simply paste a shape code into the lab and the mod will figure out the ideal setup for you, presented in a production tree. If you get overwhelmed by some of the late-game shapes but do really want to keep expanding your factory, this is a great tool for you. However, figuring out how to make a shape is a big part of the game for some, so this mod may not be for everyone.

### 1st Place – **Arctic Ruins** by Papierkorb2292

Wow. Just wow. In first places comes a new game mode that turns the shapez formula on its head, and does so in style: Arctic Ruins.

In the new game mode, the production process is quite literally inversed. Instead of mining shapes from asteroids, assembling them and delivering them to the Vortex, you _receive_ shapes from the Vortex, _de_-assemble them and _insert_ them into the asteroids. Filling an asteroid up will remove the newly-introduced fog of war (a snow storm in this case), unlocking new parts of the map.

The feature list is quite long, but this mod introduces new mechanics, new buildings, new milestones, new visuals, and randomly generated buildings to find around the map. Oh, and not to forget, there's new lore and even _an intro cinematic_. What?!

A very deserved congratulations to the talented Papierkorb2292, we're very impressed. You win the RTX 5080!

# Update 1.2

A big part of Update 1.2 will be an update to Unity that Noah, our Unity Developer, has been working on. Currently, shapez 2 uses Unity version 2022.3, which has served the development of the game since before Early Access. However, this version was officially deprecated in June. As such, 1.2 will see shapez 2 updated to the latest Unity Long Term Support version, 6000.3\. While this version is 2.5 years newer than 2022.3, it does not mean we just jumped 3978 versions. They're just naming them different now.

So, what does this actually mean? Well, on the development side we'll get a whole bunch of new features, bug fixes and quality of life improvements across both the engine and editor. This will hopefully aid us in future updates, but our main concern for 1.2 is to get the game working on the feature and stability parity level that we currently have. Oddly enough, when it comes to the Unity update, this means we really hope you don't notice any big changes in 1.2\. The actual changes will provide the foundation we build future updates on!

However, updating the engine of the game is easier said than done, and we have some "fun" experiences to share. To preface this, we'd like to walk you through the process of updating the engine:

[olist]*   The project is first opened in the new Unity version. Unity itself handles re-import any assets that need to be processed differently between versions.*   You'll then be informed of any issue that arose during this process before even launching the game. For example, one of the game assets was broken during the importing process. The game was then compiled without errors.*   This means the game was able to be played and tested in the Unity editor, to check for any obvious unintended changes caused by the update. Once such a regression is found, you have to investigate the issue and research what changes led to the issue.*   Once all regression were resolved on that specific PC, the resulting version is then handed over to the QA team, who within minutes uncovered numerous other issues that weren't showing before. These then needed to be reproduced in order to be fixed.[/olist]While this all only took four steps on paper, the whole process of fixing every issue that reared its (presumably) ugly head took around 2 weeks to reach a state where the game is both fully functional and stable. Some of these bugs were interesting to say the least, so let's looks at a couple.

In this first screenshot that we took right after updating to Unity 6000.3, we got a whole bunch of issues teaming up to create something truly cursed, but also quite cool!

*   Asteroids are missing as they were causing a GPU driver crash due to uninitialized memory.
*   Colors appeared washed out due to color grading being done in Low Dynamic Range (LDR) instead of High Dynamic Range (HDR).
*   All transparency effects were incorrectly blended on top of opaque elements.
*   Our custom fog and outline post processing was being applied incorrectly.

With all that fixed, it looks like shapez 2 again!

Another highlight, pun intended, is this shader situation. The yellow and magenta you see are backup shaders used to highlight any missing shaders. As you can see, there were a lot of missing shaders.

And here's yellow shapez 2, just to ruin your day.

Here, train lines in the new version spawned an infinite amount of trains spawned. This would happen when you return to the game after minimising the game, _specifically_ on DX12 in fullscreen mode. Zooming out would cause another shader bug to occur, causing invalid colors and the bloom effect you see on the trains.

So yeah, these are just a few of the adventures we went on for two weeks. However, we're pleased to say that with this update we've managed to make some progress on some longer standing issues. For example, Vulkan crashing when using AMD graphic cards and DX12 randomly crashing when zooming the camera in and out.

# shapez 2 Puzzles

Finally, some progress on the Puzzles project! In case you missed it, we're working on puzzles for shapez 2\. These puzzles will be similar to the Puzzle DLC of shapez 1, but with the new mechanics of shapez 2\. The platforms and extra dimension will be a fun extra challenge!

While we're not ready to share the details on the game, we do want to share a first look of what our artist Nigel has been cooking up. Of course, everything here is early work in progress, so very much subject to change.

The general idea is that puzzles will have background environments that go beyond the Space setting of shapez 2\. We'll have a bunch of different backgrounds, ranging from dreamlike shape-scapes where the shapes take on a life of their own…

to something like the lab we just started working on.

As puzzles are quite individual, the team has a lot of freedom to play around and have some fun with the visuals. Though we won't be able to make a unique background for every single puzzle. Do share your background suggestions with us in the Discord!

shapez 2 - Mod Contest Winners & Development Update

Engineers, most factories were stuck at the same wall: batteries gating oil, capped Sources, parallel lines undercounting. That wall is gone.

## Progression unblocked: batteries and scaling

The biggest change is a full redesign:

*   **Source upgrades no longer cost their own resource.** Each tier is paid with the previous chain's goods. The oil and battery dead-wait is gone.
*   **Battery Banks unlock with Battery Tech.** No more hunting for the unlock.
*   **Upgraded Sources deliver their full researched rate.** A hidden cap held every Source at 1250/s no matter what you researched.
*   **Deliveries from multiple sources add up again.** Two factories feeding one warehouse count both, like in 0.8.
*   **The Oil Refinery consumes what its recipe says.** It was quietly eating double.

## Nuclear reactors got better

*   **Reactors make power without a heat exchanger.** Core plus turbines now produce base power, and exchangers boost it. Before, a reactor without an exchanger ate fuel and produced nothing.

*   **A zero explains itself.** The energy row now names the problem: "no turbine to convert the heat", "no reactor fuel". Hover a turbine or heat exchanger to see what one more would add, straight from the reactor math.

*   **The reactor card shows real output.** The old flat "+100 energy/t" is gone. Card and energy row now always agree, and the coolant plant no longer lists energy it doesn't produce.

## Accurate numbers on the map

*   **Every rate reads /t.** The map said "/s" while parcel interiors said "/t" for the same number. Now it is one unit everywhere, at every game speed.

*   **Cable bars show true fill.** A patched cable carrying 64/t of its 128/t now reads half full instead of full. Base cables look exactly as before.

## Quality of life

*   **UI scaling works on every platform and can't lock you out.** The Settings dialog scrolls, and parcel cards stay under the menus.
*   **Esc opens the pause menu** when nothing else is open, and consistently closes what you'd expect.
*   **Power demand is measured before throttling.** No more flickering grids.
*   **Sources stay visible in dark mode.**
*   **Cleaner parcel descriptions in every language.**
*   **The factory mark runs cool blue now, favicon included.**

We're back with another update for Incremental Infinity!

Today, we're introducing new late-game options and tweaks to the diamonds economy.

Let's jump right in!

# **New Synergies**

We've added two new synergy nodes. These are unique nodes that immediately enhance one of your weapons based on the power level of another. For example, an existing synergy node was to enable critical shots on the multi-shots weapon.

Here are the two additions:

### **Lightning Chain Fire Rate**

Lightning Chain's cooldown is slightly reduced for each Fire Rate upgrade.

This node unlocks at Ascension 6.

### **Poisonous Laser**

Lasers can now poison enemies.

This node unlocks at Ascension 8, extending the end-game content. Previously, the last upgrade was unlocked at Ascension 7.

If you're already beyond Ascension 6 or 8, these nodes can appear in newly discovered sectors during your current run. There's no need to Ascend again to unlock them.

We hope these new synergies will encourage new builds and expand the range of viable strategies available to you. If you already rely on these weapons, they should also provide a nice boost to your late-game firepower.

More of those synergy nodes will be added to the game very soon!

# **Economy Tweaks**

Many players told us they were ending up with too many Diamonds and that the Diamond Ascension didn't feel particularly rewarding. We think one of the main reasons for this is that synergy nodes are currently too inexpensive.

In the current version, they only cost 2 Diamonds, despite being late-game content (the first one only becomes available after your first Ascension). They're also extremely powerful, especially later in the game once the related weapon has been heavily upgraded.

A cost of 2 Diamonds made perfect sense in the demo, where synergy nodes were available from Ascension 0\. In the full game, however, since they unlock later, that price is simply too low.

We've therefore decided to increase the cost of synergy nodes. Depending on the node, they now cost 5 or 10 Diamonds. We believe this change will make them feel much more rewarding to unlock while also giving Diamonds, and the Diamond Ascension itself, a more meaningful role.

New Late Game Content - Economy Tweaks

Thanks for the great feedback on cinema mode, I'm glad you guys loved it :)!

Smaller-ish patch for you guys today, focusing on some bugs and QoL changes.

*   All upgrades now calculate requirements from your effective amount of ships (meaning superships values are now correctly calculated and they are not just 1 ship anymore)
*   Pirates were leaving infinitely drawn ship trails that never disappeared if you had max speed, this is now fixed
*   Various localization fixes such as station titles and consistency between fleet command and engineering panel
*   Rank ups now show the number of the rank
*   Drone Refinery now has a slider in the Refinery Command letting you split your ore/metal production
*   Mastery

    *   Game now calculates how many points you should have on game load and refunds any missing ones
    *   There were situations where if you invested in upgrades I removed/split/moved those points would be gone
    *   Game correctly saves and loads all upgrades

Hi!

I just pushed a new update and added a lot of fixes to make the game work smoother and be more enjoyable!

### What's new:

*   **Added player dragging** - grab a player with your mouse and move them around! Doing this will interrupt whatever they're doing!
*   **Fixed player high speed cornering** - the cornering value was not properly saved causing the players to struggle to complete tasks at high speed!
*   **Added enemy list!** - Open the Standings tab to see a list of enemies in current level to be able to better strategize against them!
*   **Ultra-wide fix** - fixed the scaling for ultra-wide and 16:10 screens. Now the game will letterbox properly instead of stretching.
*   **Fixed double enemy spawn** - fixed a bug when loading a game would cause there to be double the amount of enemies.
*   **Changed camera controls** - due to adding player grabbing, the camera drag is now right mouse button, not left and \[REDACTED] is middle mouse button instead of right.
*   **Scientific notation** - Click the scoreboard to toggle the scientific notation on and off.
*   **1x / 10x / 100x / MAX button two way toggle** - Right click the button to go down a value!
*   **Added more tutorials** - Added tutorials explaining these features and some more too!
*   **Scaled down 2nd League Boss** - Reduced points required to beat the level
*   **Added Widget Mode camera controls** - you can now control the camera in Widget Mode. It will revert to auto-scrolling automatically after a moment

Player dragging should help a lot to get the bankers to where they don't want to go. The player ai is really really dumb, and they will just go to the closest target they can find, which sometimes would cause piles of cash to be unattended while bankers would be all busy elsewhere. Now you can simply drag the bankers to the cash pile and drop them! You can also keep grabbing bankers and use them like a vacuum machine for coins, but it might be a bit hard to aim because the players are lifted pretty high to be visible above all the mayhem happening below!

I have also added exponential scientific notation. Simply click the scoreboard to toggle the display modes!

I also added a list of current enemies that shows up when you select the "Standings " tab. This will allow for better player dispatch and resource management!

There were also two major bugs I fixed! One is double-spawning enemies when loading the game, so you would have twice the amount of push-back when loading a match!

Another one is that the cornering value was not saved for the players. This value would increase and scale each time you purchase a Running Speed upgrade, but it would not save, so when you reloaded you might have noticed players circling around the targets. This is now saved properly, but if you have a saved game from the previous version you'll have to buy one Running Speed upgrade (or start a new match) for the value to be set properly!

I also added a right-click option to the 1x/10x/100x/MAX button so that you can go down one value instead of having to circle around!

I also scaled down the 2nd League Boss from around $40M requirement to $11M because the level would take a little too long in some circumstances!

*   Added a new super boss on Floor 80, with an exclusive Relic drop.
*   Added Relic: **Storm Dragon's Eye**.
*   Added Relic: **Elemental Cycle Device**.
*   Added Runeword: **The Butcher**.
*   Added **The Butcher**, a new unit summoned by its Runeword with two unique abilities.
*   Added **Test Filter** to the equipment right-click menu, so you can check which rule an item matches.

### **Major Equipment & Relic Changes**

*   **Battle Fury** now applies 50% of your AOE Range bonus to Splash Range.
*   **Battle Fury Handle** has been fully reworked into **Substitute Puppet**, a new Follower-focused item. Existing copies will migrate automatically.
*   Buffed **Dreamtide** and **Thunder Edict**.
*   **Firehawk Soul** can now be upgraded with a new ability for Follower skills.
*   **Greed Challenge** now gives Rare equipment a higher chance to roll a sixth affix.
*   **Forge Eye** now gives equipment a higher chance to roll Superior.
*   **Proof of Leadership** now only causes defeat if a hero dies within 20 seconds of deployment.

### **Other Changes**

*   Buffed Strike skills and splash-focused equipment and Runewords.
*   Follower skills now gain +1 follower every 10 skill levels. Several of their stats have also been buffed.
*   Crafting now uses fixed Potential costs.
*   Dropped equipment now rolls 90-115 Potential, up from 80-110.
*   Fixed an issue that prevented Runeword equipment from being socketed again.
*   Reworked status effect visuals.
*   Reduced enemy damage scaling after Floor 75.
*   Slightly reduced the damage bonus from the **Frenzied** enemy affix.
*   Other small changes.

**A free-to-play idle survival RPG. The whole game, no price tag, no pay-to-win.**

You're a lone survivor rebuilding from a wreck. From nothing, you gather, craft, and fight your way back up: level dozens of skills toward mastery, forge legendary gear, push through zone after zone, and unlock system after system as you go. It idles while you're away and rewards you when you play. Drop in for five minutes or five hours, your save is always here.

**What's in it**

*   **A deep solo game** - skills, crafting, combat, research, prestige, and an endgame that keeps opening up.
