Beep Beep Until You're Rich! review

It's like Digseum, but significantly less fun to play. Also, who labelled this as a Nodebuster-like? It's nothing like Nodebuster, in my opinion.

Anyway, you'd expect from the title and screenshots that you'd walk around, and the beeping of your metal detector alerts you to things under the ground that you then dig, but...nope, you have to spend a sonar pulse to detect stuff around you, and if there's anything in range, it gets highlighted. It doesn't even make a proper beep sound, so the title alone is a bit of a scam already! I was promised beep-beep, not this generic digital sound effect!

Anyway, it takes several digs to unearth anything, you can only dig up 1 or 2 things per 'run' at the start, then the stuff you dig has random value (because we all love random income, right guys?), you spend the money you get on minor upgrades that are barely felt, rinse and repeat. Didn't enjoy the few minutes I spent on it, and I felt no inclination to continue beyond them.

It really reminded me of Digseum more than Nodebuster, really. And I do think there's potential with the idea here...but this just isn't a good execution on it. So, I give it a 2/5, would not recommend playing it as is, unless you're really desperate for something to pass the time with. (If it were a 1/5 instead, I would recommend finding ANYTHING else to do instead, to put the 2/5 score into context.)
