Interesting art style, kind of dig it. Incremental aspect is kinda just leave it running for hours/days, not very active besides tedius clicking. I unlocked ~3 buildings and did a few researchs to unlock stuff, but nothing I found was really fun to unlock and felt it added more of a chore. A lot of stuff you can unlock but nothing really feels fun to unlock in terms of either improving some aspect of your run w.r.t tediousness. Some of my thoughts:
- Character "attribute" leveling up system doesnt seem balanced/reasonable, why would you do anything besides damage or attack speed, and maybe health? The other stats are minor. You can reset stats after doing some experimentation but you have to click 1x1 to re-level attributes.
- The active aspect has a lot of different timescales. You don't do anything for combat or spells, but after every wave resources can respawn, which bottleneck all progress. If you leave it running you get experience/gold but no items. I unlocked the research station thing but there's no way to queue researches, so that's variable in time checking, and the magical unlock was something I thought I could cast spells but its all automatic and the only way I can seem to get spell damage is sacrificing item slots for +spell damage or elite monster currency -- so I'm doing no spell damage unless I sack stats for it (which I would have loved to know before wasting time unlocking it).
- Item dropping system are boring. Only helmets/weapons dropped for me, and items despawn. Should be able to scrap items for gold, or have loadouts. I got a purple helmet, then a few drops later got a green mushroom helmet that had better stats. Needs less rng and more choice on items. I thought the tavern would unlock a shop, but instead you hire companions that do smol damage.
- Clicking for stone/trees is tedious as hell. I'm a few hours in and I still haven't unlocked an automation to do it -- the developer replied i another comment here, but even if there existed an automation, where would it be? Under what unlock would you find it? I thought digging site would be a way to automate resource extraction but it's another minigame where you have
- Tabs/Subtabs galore. Nothing is really explained (yes I read the tooltip), which is fine for having a game that expects you to explore, but it seems if you pick the wrong tab that doesn't seem to help your core game too much, or the help is greatly deffered into the future after investing time into it. A part of this is fine but I would honestly love to wipe my save and undo some purchases which isn't a nice feeling to have.
- The ball choice bonuses are very minor compared to other bonuses, felt like damage was the only thing worthwile.
- The mission system is confusing, as you unlock it right away and you have to accept the mission, then after some time after turning you turn in, for no money, experience, but you get a currency that does what? What's a daily gem? I have no clue.
Needs better offline/passive resource generation. Needs some automation on trees/boulders earlier. Needs a way to queue research. Need a way to have better item system. Unlocks in the game adding chores is fine, but after a few hours, it's just chores on chores with each of the chores having different timescales.
There's probally more but I decided to stop playing after 4 hours.
