It's a very weird game. Maybe it's just not for me.
I have to admit, I didn't understand it. It's very confusing, both in terms of its themes and its mechanics. There's the Qi, the study, and the kanji, and it definitely feels heavily inspired by Eastern (Japanese?) culture, with the envious cousin from your clan and all that... and then there's a forest where you fight magical creatures. I feel like the game doesn't provide enough context or information about what everything is, or how everything is related.
The game tries to be very complex, and it is, but the gameplay is also very repetitive and tedious. There are a lot of minigames, most of which involve following shapes and arrows with your mouse. It's probably designed with mobile devices in mind?
I also don't think it has autosave, so you have to manually copy and paste the export data to save your progress.
And I have to say it, it has some AI-ish look and feel, and that put me off a bit too.
Then there's this cousin, who I think is basically a forced reset, because you have no chance of winning the encounter, and you have to start over.
I don't get it at all. I played it for about half an hour, and I still don't even understand it. But again, I can't say it's bad. It looks like a decent amount of effort went into the game, so maybe it's just not my cup of tea.
