lovely graphics and an engaging early game, but suffers from a long and tedious tail end that i didn't find engaging enough to slog through.
there are loads of "aha" moments when you figure out what the hell all the different machines do, and how they can be used together to create a clockwork mechanism to get all those sweet sweet cubes. unfortunately the costs of buildings scales so rapidly that you will often end up just waiting to collect enough resources to progress.
getting to the end of the game is mostly tedious refilling of machines, in a kind of 'active waiting'. there are no perpetual or long-term automation structures, so most mid-to-late stage gameplay is clicking empty machines. you can buy silos to automatically topup machines, but they run out too, and can only be refilled manually. you get an achievement for plopping two silos next to eachother, but they don't actually refill eachother!
resource collection is very visual, and lags the game on lower end pcs - the solution is to buy a lag-reduction building that optimises the collection process, but also costs resources that you should be spending on improving the factory.
the mechanics have a great 'hook' to them that kept me playing, but it's poorly managed somewhere along the line and lost its grip on me. game is currently in need of a rebalance IMO. i played v1.0.5, and these criticisms probably won't be true forever. check current steam reviews before buying.
