Dark World 2 review

There's a lot of good ideas here, slightly held back by execution. The game is heavy on exposition and grinding, with very little direction. It has elements of Souls-likes and games like Dark Cloud, so players experienced in the genre will be more at ease when choosing how to progress character and base-building.

The game tends to overwhelm with choices and tradeoffs - a simpler start with more frequent and smaller upgrades and gradually expanding features, as is standard in incremental games, would be more engaging. As it stands, it's very slow and there is little clarity on the differences between gear and town upgrade choices, but for the intrepid there is a lot of depth here.
