CTS is absolutely astounding for an idle/incremental game. The pacing can feel odd, but the beginning stages (I quit playing long before the 'new stages' were planned to be added... they were talking about colonizing space and other planets around that time) were thrilling and entertaining. The creatures you find amongst the simulation are intriguing, the sounds and music are not overbearing and there's more than 1 simulation!

If you do like games that can keep your mind's eye for longer than a day or two, CTS is your bet. If they are still as actively developing it as they were when I last played, I would 100% recommend at least giving the game a shot every so often.
