"An idiot admires complexity, a genius admires simplicity."
There are two perspectives one can perceive onto this game.
The first being that is bland, monotonous, boring and pointless.
The second being that is a minimalist, modernist and contructionist work of art.
While there is nothing wrong with being a part of either side, I find myself on the latter, though both perspectives convey rely on completely correct fact. I believe it serves as a representation of the digital cultural identities we have as internet users. We communicate and engage in a fake world of 1s and 0s. Most programmers biggest regret is starting to program in the first place. It seems that nothing programmers do is actually real (Fireship). While it's affects may be seen in the real world, what we perceive is simply a liquid crystal solution being illuminated between two thin sheets of glass. The only possible human interpretation of 'points' in the game: is itself. There is no story, no character, no lore, no decoration, no meaning. And it is this meaningless in this pointless that it becomes so meaningful in abstract. There is nothing to suggest an outside world exists at all in this game. It is letters, words and numbers, which mean nothing at all. Video games themselves are pointless unless meant for entertainment. This game is truly meaningless. There is nothing entertaining whatsoever. But it is playing this game, I get to grasp the concept of oblivion. True emptiness. It reminds me how real reality is. There are no visuals to support otherwise. The only true element is the geometry that defines the metrics of the website and the boxes of the options. Hence the name, I suppose. A true work of art.
