I think it's a good game with potential to be great. I honestly hadn't heard of Melvor before I read these reviews. But I can certainly understand where they're coming from, as this game is also heavily inspired by Runescape, however, it does have it's own little quirks like using crafting tables and altars to figure out recipes for new items.
The game has a leaderboard which can track a ton of different stats. This is a big motivator for me to play the game as I'm rather competitive.
I like that the Patreon tiers provide nothing other than vanity rewards in the game which I believe is a fair way to monetise the game. There aren't any whales dropping money left and right to get the best XP drops or best in slot items.
The only reason I give it a four instead of a five is because there's still a few things to be ironed out in terms of the progression for certain skills like fishing and mining, and the market exchange still needs to be polished a bit more.
