Hey, first of all, I just want to say how much I’ve been enjoying Loot of Baal. I’ve been playing for a while now and I really love the depth of the systems, especially how it mixes idle progression with loot-based optimization and classic ARPG mechanics. It hits that sweet spot between chill and strategic.
That said, I think there’s one thing missing that’s becoming a bigger issue the more I play: the game really needs an Auto-Lock system for items.
The current Filtering system is super powerful, and I appreciate how much control it gives us. But at the same time, it’s a bit risky. If I misconfigure one filter rule, or forget to update something, I can lose important items forever — and there’s no warning or way to get them back.
For example, I’ve lost legendary items, weapons with 5–6 sockets (which are huge for runewords), and some pieces with rare affix combos like +2 All Skills or +Life on Hit, just because they didn’t match my current filter settings. The problem isn’t just about bad loot management — it’s that the game doesn’t give me any way to “protect” stuff that’s clearly valuable.
I think having an Auto-Lock feature would help solve that. Something that lets us define a few conditions that, if met, automatically lock an item and prevent it from being dismantled or sold. Like “lock all legendary items”, “lock all items with 5 or more sockets”, or “lock any item with affix X”. Even just letting us lock manually in the inventory would be better than nothing.
Ideally, this could be built into the Filtering UI. Maybe a checkbox like “Auto-Lock matching items”, or a separate tab where we define rules for what gets locked no matter what. It doesn’t need to be complex — just enough to let players avoid losing top-tier items while farming or tweaking filters.
Right now, every time I change my filtering rules, I feel a bit anxious. Like I might be throwing away something I’ll regret later. And that kind of friction goes against the spirit of the game, which is all about smart automation and progression.
Loot of Baal already has such a solid foundation. Adding a way to auto-lock or protect valuable loot would not only improve quality of life, but also help players trust the systems more — especially in the late game where one item can make or break a build.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks again for the game. It really is something special. Just hoping this small feature can make it even better.
