Inflation RPG review

If you're on the fence of trying it out and you haven't after 12 years, try it, it's easy to pick up and you will instantly see if the loop is for you or not. It's no masterpiece but a decent timekiller that holds up.

2013! I'm hesitant to call it a classic, but it's certainly one of the most important incremental-esque games for mobile devices.

The formula is well executed. A map you can learn as you play, mechanics/stats with an incentive to be learned, exploited and completed for better rewards, and rewards for successful execution while not being punishing for failure.

I'm mostly sad that few games capture this loop in abstract. 12 years ago an RPG-Incremental hybrid still outperforms in execution a lot of games talked about today.

Of course, it's not without its flaws. It's repetitive and ironically a bit slow to play as perma-progression doesn't come with perma-skip-the-slog.
