I'm leaving a 4 star review to be tentatively upgraded to 5 if the game continues on its course. Yes, it is slow. Yes, the very beginning seems like nothing is really happening...
HOWEVER, if you play as optimally as you will allow, the first reset of the game takes no longer than an hour. I think you can hit the first reset of the game in about 45 minutes as the fastest, at which point THIS part of the game starts to speed up. I think the real problem lies in how long each goal is to the next in the beginning -- it really does not lend to a suitably grindy experience since it feels like its not a grind but a wait. Just waiting and waiting... which makes it an excellent 2nd idle game to run alongside something else.
I will also state that the game starts to open up a little more with each new mechanic. I have only unlocked up to Vermy and the games core structure has yet to change, but it definitely is much more interesting than some other games I've played.
If you have the patience to give it a shot, you definitely should. If I had to, I would label this game as a waiting game, much like Check Back. It does not have the same grindy feeling of Dodeca Dragons.
Overall, give it a REAL shot before slamming it as "bad" or "slow". Some of the very best incremental/idle games I've played have been "bad" or "slow" in the beginning but very soon blossomed into something else entirely.... something beautiful, elegant and enjoyable.
