CivRise review

Honestly this doesn't feel like a game, feels like an interactable UI. You can click things and new things pop up, but you don't choose anything, just wait for it to be available. You don't affect anything, passive progress is prevalent. Everything is the same, with a minor icon change. Fire, Water, Rituals and Combat all give the same thing, stars. What for? to buy more things that give stars the same way. Cookie Clicker is one of the most basic inspirations for these things, and even they give you different graphics to things that increment. And the upgrades affect specific stuff, so you feel progress even when it's all about cookies (even wood would make more sense to build a Civ than stars...).

I don't know, this has so much put into it but lacks everything at the same time.

Is the point of the game to build a civilization? Then put that in the center so everything we buy shows us the progress of it. Is it to increment? There are tons of games in this site that do a better job at engaging, needs some research. Is it like an RPG? Then choices need to matter.
