Neat bite-sized experience about sending your hero repeatedly through nine levels of increasingly formidable monsters, timing your use of active skills during waves and leveling up/collecting equipment between waves. There's choices between different builds in midgame -- complete with choices of potions with different permanent effects -- but they tend to converge by the end, when you have the points to max out your skill tree and you're fighting creatures which require you to use everything at your disposal; the last level or two have a puzzle-like feel to them. Light grind but never annoyingly repetitive; the game always seemed perfectly balanced to me where virtually every run represented tangible progress, except right at the end where the wall was figuring out the active-play optimization. Good art en route as well. Recommend.
