The Climb review

The game feels tedious for the sake of being tedious. Skills dont transfer between prestiges and take forever to level up for no reason due to how most equipment is just one and done deal, while things that WOULD be useful are typically outclassed after a while by whatever you can find around the "world". Build variety is nonexistent due to how literally every problem is just "grind until you're strong enough to win", and grinding for consumables (among which we didn't even get ANY buffing ones) is useful only until you reach second floor, since by that time you probably have pretty good armor and decent regen. Enchants aren't varied either, with slimes just having the same enchants that get stronger with stronger slime variations, which makes grinding for any of said enchants except for the strongest practically pointless, not to mention that since the game ends so early on, a lot of these enchants are seemingly meant for the very same enemy you get those enchants for and nothing else. And OBVIOUSLY with all this time wasting you don't have the ability to speed up time, because why would we respect the players time and let them spend more time actually playing the game and not staring for minutes at the screen waiting for the resources to finally reach the point where you can sell them at the guild or craft when we can just force them to leave the pc for hours on end so that they thought the game is bigger than it actually is? Oh, and some gripes of mine: resonance is an annoying mechanic because its poorly explained through vague hints that could mean ANYTHING (bow resonance requires you to kill a bear while axe resonance requires you to die while chopping trees despite both talking about how the characters died doing their thing, and honestly I'm not sure what does sickle resonance even wants from you and if its the same as axe, then i cant do it cause im already outhealing a lot of things with my regen alone), and achievements in general are just stupid, like "kill a million of creatures with this or that type" or "sleep for 10 hours", meaning its more pointless grind instead of, for example, having an achievement for killing specific bosses, maybe even killing them with specific conditions, but again, thats just my personal gripe. Still, the game is just too small and too stretched out with the most boring grind ever, and that is not to mention that the game isnt even that much of an incremental due to how prestiging is mostly just one time offer for one time permanent upgrades, which is technically fair cause the game is designed for that, but also boring because the game is designed for that
