Decent game so far. The only two gripes I have is the slow speed of the 'ticks' and the fact that if you AFK for 15 minutes, the game pauses.

Instead of pausing, consider putting the game in 'AFK mode' after 15 minutes, where the events are disabled. Any movement or clicks will put the game back in an 'active state'. This will speed up the early game and add to the flow of the game.
