King & Country review
2

I stopped playing at the point when I had 7 different buttons to play whack-a-mole with, just mindlessly buying upgrades on repeat whenever I can afford them, split across 2 pages I had to click between constantly to see what I can afford, using 2 separate currencies I had to keep track of individually...and then I unlocked a third resource that added 8 more buttons, all of which orders of magnitude more expensive than I could afford, giving me nothing to immediately buy with the new resource. Nothing but the promise that if I upgraded its production, I could now play whack-a-mole with 15 buttons and three separately increasing resources, while clicking between 3 different pages, instead.

And for as long as I played, I never unlocked a single bit of automation, nor did the game ever indicate when (or if) such automation might be unlocked and I might be able to have fun instead of doing digital chores on loop with no end in sight. Giving it a 2/5 just because I know some people don't mind how tedious and manual games like this are. So if you're one of those people who WANT some digital chores to occupy your time, and you don't mind having to constantly click between pages and play whack-a-mole with buttons for upgrades that give an unclear but constantly decreasing amount of progress, then have fun! I do not enjoy that though, so 2/5, wouldn't recommend it to most folks.
