A cute little mini-adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo, about 3-4 hours for a full playthrough. It alternates back and forth between two different types of idle/clicker game structure -- one with a back-and-forth rhythm where you choose which of two currencies boosting each other to develop; and one that's got a vague tower defense structure where you upgrade weapons and tools in order to "dig"/"explore" versus environmental obstacles which close in on you, progressing through levels which earn you progressively more cash. Distinctive pixel art, many humorous anachronisms which one might find annoying but I found cute, and enough variety/upgrades to feel good for its length.
Warning: It is a paid game, and a relatively short one at that. It's cheap enough I didn't mind supporting the developer, but if cost is a factor, buy it on sale or browse through this site's many free alternatives.
