Dunk Cookies review

It has potential.

For the most part, nice presentation, good intuitive UI and fun and satisfying gameplay loop.

I must say it's not perfect though, the progression felt A LOT like hand holding, it felt like I had no agency, the upgrades are SUPER LINEAL, I just collected cookies and upgraded what the tree told me to upgrade. It feels like the dev intended the game to be played in ONE WAY only. There is ZERO strategy, you can't say "oh, I'm going to focus on strength and leave radius for later", nope, you have to play it in a linear way and upgrade what the tree tells you to upgrade. The "upgrade tree" is not even a tree, it's just a line of upgrades with a few small branches.

I also never felt "powerful", I always felt like I was falling behind, because when the game scaled, even the weaker cookies scaled so sometimes the weaker cookies were stronger than the last level and the hammer strenght felt like a temprary buff, since you'll eventually have a weaker hammer again and would need to upgrade it to keep up.

It does have potential, but in this state I can't say I'd recommend it.
