Does Absorber's concept much better imo, though to be fair Absorber is pretty barebones in terms of actual content
Fair warning- this game is pretty slow... although, I'm playing shortly after release and the developer seems to be updating the game near daily, so this complaint may already be outdated. The updates have made me get confused a few times, like when the "challenge the author" button disappeared, or when an enemy got a new stat and I thought there was some kind of mechanic I missed, or when I did a prestige and was suddenly much stronger for no discernable reason- which is why I suspect the early game pacing has already been rebalanced since I played it.
The automation is pretty good, at first you have to unlock it manually, but prestige options let you keep more and more "tools" - which includes both upgrades and QoL features- permanently, so before too long there's no issue. Eventually there's even automation for how many times you want to beat a specific enemy before moving to the next one and a priority system to decide what order to fight enemies in.
Right now I'm at the wall between framed and opus rarities, and honestly the speed of the game depends a lot on how much attention you want to give it. If you just leave it idle, it can take hours to get roughly the same strength you can get in 5 minutes if you pick your targets properly (or I might just not be using the priority system very well tbh). Often there isn't really a reason to fight the hardest enemies you can beat to completion since the prestige mechanic works in tiers- if it doesn't give enough rewards to tier up something and you already have it in your glossary for the permanent multiplier, don't waste your time.
And finally, RNG. Unlike Absorber, there are enemy rarities and it's RNG which ones you get each prestige. There are ways to mitigate RNG, like increasing odds, getting to pick a set number of guaranteed enemies of your choice, and eventually even spamming prestiges until you get the combination of rarities you want, which also tells you the odds of getting it. I really didn't have a problem with it, and it mostly serves as a way to make it less repetitive and have a different "build" every time.
If you liked Absorber and like longer, more fleshed out incremental games, this is for you
