Man In The Mocha review

It's okay. I played it for an hour. To be honest after the first 10 minutes I only kept playing to see if there was more to it (there isn't). In the first 5-10 minutes of the game you unlock all the mechanics, and then it's just earning money to buy upgrades (which only makes the machines run faster or sell the coffee more expensive, and so on, nothing significant really). It was the same repetitive gameplay for one hour, and there's ZERO automation (I guess it's all locked for the paid game) and as you progress it gets more active and frantic and it requires more and more of your attention and reflexes. In general when you progress in incrementals it starts to become easier to manage but here the more you progress the faster you have to click to brew, sell coffee, hack, sell bytes, launder money, rinse and repeat. On the other hand, the UI is nice, it's very well presented and intuitive, it's just the gameplay becomes very repetitive and frantic over time. One itch commenter put it simply as "overstimulating", it actually felt like you need to drink five coffees to keep up with the game's rythm.
