Come Closer, It's Cold is a short atmospheric incremental survival game about warmth, resource pressure, and frozen spirits.

Core loop

You play as a campfire in a frozen forest. Spirits drift toward your light — spend sparks to warm them before they freeze. Sparks are generated by holding the fire, but doing so drains your intensity. Wood restores intensity, but the supply is limited and regenerates slowly.

Every resource competes for the same action. Stoke too long — intensity drops. Ignore spirits — they freeze and turn into Ice Shades that drain your heat directly. Run out of wood at the wrong moment — the fire dies.

Progression

5 nights of escalating pressure:

  • Night 1 — tutorial, learn the loop
  • Night 2 — first weather event, first story spirit
  • Night 3 — frost wind + Ice Shades debut simultaneously
  • Night 4 — the wall, most players don't pass on first try
  • Night 5 — scripted ending

Between nights: spend Gifts earned from warmed spirits on upgrades — faster sparks, slower decay, stronger wood.

Key mechanics

  • Hold-to-Stoke — hold mouse on campfire to generate sparks, costs intensity
  • Ice Shades — ignored spirits mutate, drain heat directly, destroyed by 4 quick clicks
  • Weather crises — frost wind, fog, ice rain, thaw — each hits a different part of the loop
  • Meta-progression — upgrade shop between nights, artifact system

Details
