Heroes For Hire has been updated to 0.8.0.0! - Next Fest is here!

Next Fest 2025 is here! I don't think this will be the last demo update as there are still optimizations and bug fixes I need to do. I'm still deciding what I want to do for the full version, but the demo content for the most part is complete.

Thank you to everyone who has played the demo and is going to play the demo! The game is still in development, some things may not be as balanced as polished as I hope right now, but I've tried to clean everything up as much as possible, especially the tutorial which I know has been a pain point so far.

Balance:

  • Spiders now drop a slight amount more webs.

Balance:

  • Tweaked the EXP rates again.
  • The "Craftyness" personality type now impacts the chance of heroes using potions.
  • Guilds now start with slightly less money. This is less balance and more to make tips work right.
  • Guilds will no longer be penalized for not entering tournaments and doing orders before they even can.
  • Changed how reputation related to dungeons works.

Other Changes:

  • Added hovers to the hero info pin.
  • Placeholder upgrade recipes can no longer be crafted.
  • Rooms with issues now show up on the guild hall viewer.
  • Bodyguards can no longer pick up items, and will always start with two potions and a bomb.
  • Changed the variable time optional speedup slightly.
  • Added some minor tips to get players on the right track faster.
  • Changes when icons on the desktop show up, to pace out reveals better.
  • Popup help tutorials now highlight the popup they are on.
  • Some tutorials were tweaked and fixed.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed some broken hovers.
  • It is no longer possible to drop dragged items and heroes onto popups through other popups.
  • The bodyguard will no longer stop the auto dungeon from starting because he wants to take a break.
  • New popups will no longer occasionally appear below old ones when created.
  • Fixed various parts of the finance tab of the hero list.
